This was an exercise our tutor set for a zoom session, paint three big skies. I went through many photographs of skylines I'd taken and chose three - two from Galloway and one from Whitby. Try and find different ones, she guided us. Different times of day orconditions. As we go, we post our progress on a Whatsapp page for the tutor to comment. I'd painted the hillside too big and she told me to paint over with more sky. But how? Well, I tried it again and it seems to have turned out okay.

Because I was aiming to paint three skylines in two hours, I chose A4 paper. As I look at them now on my window ledge, they seem so tiny. Big skies need a big space, possibly even a canvas!
