Coffee Pot and Cup 1
A4 paper, acrylic, 27 July 2020
Progess shots

We might, in future, speak of life before and after Covid. Before, I liked to visit cafes for a coffee for a good read or to meet friends. After Covid, this all stopped abruptly. Sometime during 2020, the restrictions were lifted after the first lockdown and there was the possibility of visiting a cafe again. This painting, taken from a photograph, was of my first visit back. The cafe is aslo a bakery, so I could combine it with buying really nice bread and a cycle ride.
Painting glass and silver metal is difficult. I was pleased with how it turned out. I chose to draw out the warmth of the brick walls in red. And the coffee cup is full.
