Coffee Pot and Cup 2
4 paper, acrylic, 10 August 2020
Progess shots

A couple of weeks later, I went back for bread and a coffee. The pot and empty cup were placed on the paper tablecloth before me. And I took a photograph. A germ of an idea was forming. This might be a complementary painting to Coffee Pot and Cup 1 - one in blue, the other in red. Differences and similarities, just like people, really...
I love the results. My eldest son commented favourably on them and, with his birthday coming up, I paid for a framer to set them both side by side. As it turned out, he didn't have space for it on his wall, so I am keeping it for him on my study wall; a record of going out for coffee!
Incidentally, getting frames made commercially is a pricey business. For my next birthday, I think I have yet to convince my partner, who is an artist, that I would really like her to teach me how to make frames for my paintings.
