Kingfisher

My youngest son and I are very fond of birdwatching (and hearing). He was living in France at the time, his birthday approaching.I had planned to go and stay with him for a few days but the announcement of the first lockdown put paid to that. On my walks locally, I had been privileged to see a kingfisher, not once but almost commonplace. I thought it would be a nice surprise for him to open his birthday card, painted by his day, of a kingfisher. And he was. And it looked like a kingfisher! Walking through the park today, mid-February, I couldn't help myself, checking for any sign of a returning kingfisher. Not yet!
