Parkgate
A4 paper, acrylic, 10 March 2020
Progess shots

We had driven to Parkgate on the Wirral for afternoon tea. We got the last slice of sourdough before the first full lockdown for free. The radiant view of the Dee estuary and the Welsh hills met us through the upstairs windows. Parkgate is noted for its silted up grasslands, perfect for groundnesting birds. The sun came out through the thin clouds and I took a photograph. This is one of my first landscapes . I'd been told scraping with a putty knife would enhance the appearance of brush and grasses. I'll leave you to judge.
